On November 10, to commemorate the United Nations International Week of Science and Peace, Iranian Research Center for the Silk Road (IRCSR) of Shahid Beheshti University hosted an international online conference on "Cultural Dialogue,Peace and Development on the Silk Road", experts and scholars from UNESCO, Iran, Russia, Canada, Turkey, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, China, Australia and Slovakia attended the conference to discuss the Peace and Development along the Silk Road. More than 3000 audiences from all over the world watched the conference.
Everyone agreed that the Silk Road, which runs through China and the west, has a great impact on scientific development and dialogue among civilizations, and has promoted the sustainable development of the world. Its significance goes beyond the silk road itself and is a very important cultural heritage. To discuss the silk road is not only to focus on history, but also to look forward to the future.
Professor Sadollah Nasiri Qeidari, President of Shahid Beheshti University in Iran, delivered an opening speech, welcoming experts and scholars from all over the world to gather on the "World Science Day for Peace and Development " to learn and share the peaceful development and civilization dialogue on the silk road.
Dr. Li Ruohong, President of Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, Chairman of China World Peace Foundation,attended the international online conference and delivered a video speech. He shared the story of the international volunteer team, and reviewed the peace and commonweal in the cultural interaction of the Silk Road, including the "Peace Garden Declaration" jointly issued by UNESCO and the Foundation, the "Cultural Interactive Map along the Silk Road" and "Peace Garden Peace Festival". ”"Peace Cup" International Golf Public Welfare Invitational Tournament, international photography competition of"Silk Road in the Eyes of Youth" and global tour show, etc. These plans for the silk road not only collect and focus on energy, but also expand the cultural atmosphere. He proposed that the vitality of a nation is closely related to the rise and fall of a country and the future pattern of global governance. We should use the concept of "peace + 1" and credit cooperation to build a platform for exchanges and cooperation between governments and the people. Facing the current international environment, we should unite to fight the pandemic and promote the double circulation of economic, social and cultural development at home and abroad. With the invitation of the host, after this international online conference, China World Peace Foundation will work with Iranian Research Center for the Silk Road (IRCSR) in peaceful development and jointly promote the "Cultural Interactive Map along the Silk Road".
Dr. Hojatollah Ayoubi, Secretary General of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, said that exchanges, friendship and development among countries along the silk road have been enhanced through literature and culture, peaceful dialogue and heroic deeds.
Dr. Cevetan Cvetkovski, Officer-in-Charge, UNESCO Tehran Cluster Office, shared the projects of protecting world heritage and inheriting intangible cultural heritage jointly organized by UNESCO and Middle East countries and countries along the silk road. Rich cultural exchange activities were carried out at each station, which were warmly welcomed by the local people.
Mr. Sarvar Bakhti, President of ECO Cultural Institute, Tehran, shared his views on peace. He said that peace is the main theme of development, a common goal of people all over the world, and an important force to promote the sustainable development of all countries.
It is said that the wonderful speeches of the guests at this conference will be compiled into a volume and published in Iran in early 2021.
