On November 7th, under the support of the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, a cooperation agreement was signed among Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, Beijing Peace Garden Museum, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology and COMSATS Fine Art Museum. The agreement will follow the Peace+1 path and will be carried out in accordance with Peace Garden Declaration released at the close of an expert meeting of an Interactive Atlas of Cultural Interactions of Silk Roads in the past June. Both the Chinese and Pakistani sides will establish a long-term mechanism of mutual visits by artists, experts and scholars delegations to seek multiple cooperation in painting, calligraphy, music, costume and gourmet. Two countries will also encourage cultural development and people-to-people exchanges through internet public welfare programs. The two museums will carry out inter-museum exchanges and jointly develop derivative products that can contribute to the education and culture for youths from the two countries.
The agreement will definitely produce a far-reaching effect. Farrah Mahmood, a distinguished Pakistani artist, said she was engrossed by Peace Garden Museum for its cultural charisma and humanism when she enters. All artists are excited about the huge success of the exhibition, and they express the wish to form a long-term cooperation alliance with Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation and Chinese artists, so that the art exhibition will become a regular one.
Li Ruohong, president of Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, said mutual confidence in culture serves as foundation for economic cooperation; the development of China-Pakistan Cultural Corridor provides an important opportunity to further the Belt and Road Initiative; through the promotion of Chinese art and culture, the people in Pakistan will know better of China, and more concrete benefits will be delivered to both peoples through the deepening of bilateral connectivity and cultural prosperity; the cultural corridor initiative will symbolize the first step to implement the Belt and Road Ambassador Village.
The Belt and Road Ambassador Village, unveiled during the 4th Peace Garden Peace Festival in September in front of witness of 100 representatives from diplomatic missions, international organizations, government, enterprises, experts and youths, was co-established by Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation and China Society for People’s Friendship Studies.
