Distinguished guests, Visiting Dignitaries, Ladies and Gentlemen
Ni Hao, Good Afternoon!
I am very pleased that our school is able to welcome you here for this special occasion as we celebrate China Peace Festival.
As the Chairman of the Board, I take great pride that in all our schools we have a very specific focus on ensuring our students and staff understand the value of learning, playing and working within peaceful environments. This must occur in our schools and on our campuses.
In our international schools, we have well developed curriculum and programs that address topics such as bullying, discrimination and hatred. For example, each year, on March 21st, we celebrate the Day for the Elimination of Racism and Discrimination and take a school wide photo showing our support for all persons, regardless of language, culture, religion, nationality, sexual orientation.
Schools and educators play an enormous role with the promotion and development of a society that is compassionate, tolerant, understanding, and supportive of those less fortunate and in need of assistance.
It has been said that children are our next generation of leaders - develop them today if they are to lead tomorrow. I am proud that within our schools, schools that exist across China and within the One Belt-One Road initiative—there are students and adults who daily promote peace.
Through the spoken word and through actions that exist care, kindness, and deep understanding, we can develop young men and women who will help make our world a better place.
I think it is fitting that today CISB welcomes with open arms each of you and this special event. It gives much more meaning to our efforts when our students and staff know that each of you as key adults within our city and community, support and uphold peaceful values as a means to a better world.
I wish each of you a successful afternoon and success with your efforts to promote and create more peace in our world.
