On March 26th, on the significant occasion of the second anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Honduras, a unique celebration event called "Feather Snake God Night: Friendship Celebration" was grandly held at the Inter Continental Hotel in Beijing. Professor Li Ruohong, Chairman of the China World Peace Foundation and President of the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, witnessed this joyful event together with Assistant Foreign Minister Miao Deyu, Honduran Tourism Minister Yadira, and South American ambassadors to China.
During the event, H.E.Ms. Yadira, the Minister of Tourism of Honduras, gave a detailed introduction to the country's rich archaeological achievements and the fascinating cultural interactions between China and Honduras. Scholars from both countries have launched a deep cross-cultural dialogue that transcends time and space boundaries, using the Mayan civilization feathered snake totem and Chinese snake culture symbols as unique entry points. They meticulously explore and vividly reproduce the profound cultural symbolic significance behind the serpent totem, gradually revealing the tightly connected bond between the two civilizations hidden in the long river of history. What is particularly impressive is that Chinese students sang the national anthems of China and Honduras with loud voice, and the passionate melody echoed in the activity site for a long time, conveying the sincere friendship of the two peoples and the beautiful expectation of future friendly cooperation.
